  1. Shift to any position other than
  1. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals C19 and A23 or A24.

PCM CONNECTORS

Wire side of female terminals

Is there about 5 V?

YES - 4 door model; Go to step 20.

5-door model; Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C19 and the transmission range switch. If the wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C12 and the transmission range switch. If wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.
