  1. Disconnect the U1o connector (A) from the SRS unit (B).

  1. Check resistance between the No. 5 and No. 14 terminals of the U1o connector. There should be 2.0 - 3.0 ohm.

Is the resistance as specified?

YES - Faulty SRS unit or poor contact at the SRS unit connector; check the connection between the U1o connector and the SRS unit. If the connector is OK, replace the SRS unit (see page 23-176).

NO - Open or increased resistance in dashboard wire harness B; replace dashboard wire harness B.

DTC 2-3: Short to Another Wire or Decreased Resistance in Front Passenger's Airbag Inflator
  1. Erase the DTC memory (see page 23-38).
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator light stay on?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures (see page 23-38).

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for 3 minutes.
  2. Disconnect the P1o connector from the P1i connector (A).

  1. Connect the special tool (2 ohm) to the P1i connector.
  2. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
  3. Erase the DTC memory.
