Radiator Fan Switch Test

10-19 Radiator Fan Switch Replacement

NOTE: Bleed air from the cooling system after installing the radiator fan switch (see page 10-8).
  1. Remove the radiator fan switch from the thermostat cover (see page 10-19).
  2. Suspend the radiator fan switch (A) in a container of water as shown.

  1. Heat the water and check the temperature with a thermometer. Do not let the thermometer (B) touch the bottom of the hot container.
  2. Measure the continuity between the A terminal (C) and B terminal (D) according to the table.

  1. Disconnect the radiator fan switch connector, then remove the radiator fan switch (A).

  1. Install the radiator fan switch using a new O-ring (B).
