Disconnect mainshaft speed sensor connector (2P). Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C7 and the No. 2 terminal of the mainshaft speed sensor connector. PCM CONNECTOR C (22P) MAINSHAFT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR Wire side of female terminals Is there continuity? YES - Go to step 10. NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C7 and the mainshaft speed sensor.

Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C21 and the No. 1 terminal of the mainshaft speed sensor connector. PCM CONNECTOR C (22P) MAINSHAFT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR Wire side of female terminals Is there continuity? YES - Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C21 and the mainshaft speed sensor.
