DTC Troubleshooting - with Side Airbags (cont'd)

  1. Check resistance between the No. 17 and No. 8 terminals of the U2o connector, and between the No. 17 and No. 9 terminals of the U2o connector. There should be 1 M ohm or more.

Is the resistance as specified?

YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.

NO - Short to power in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness.

DTC 11-5: Short to Ground in Driver's Side Airbag Inflator (With OPDS Unit Model)
  1. Erase the DTC memory (see page 23-38).
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator light stay on?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures (see page 23-38).

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for 3 minutes.
  2. Disconnect the SDi connector (A) from the SDo connector (B).

  1. Connect the special tool (2 ohm) to the SDi connector.
